TO FIND A TEAM OF SPECIALISTS READY TO RELOCATE

One of our clients is a huge international outsourcing company that specializes in corporate software. They work on European and American projects.

The company opened a development centre in Sofia, Bulgaria. And of course, they needed people to work there: Java, JavaScript, and other developers. Russian specialists are valued on the international market, and so the client was mostly focusing on Russian IT folk. We had to find people ready to move to Bulgaria.

Relocation is not a tourist getaway for a couple of weeks. Not any person is ready and willing to leave the usual life behind, pack their family, and move to a completely unknown place. Our core goal was to prove that a one-way ticket to another country is the right move.

FIELD RESEARCH AND COMPETENT PRESENTATION

We found 17 specialists who completely fit the skill requirements but only three of them were happy to relocate to Bulgaria. Some people didn’t want to leave cosy Saint Petersburg, while others wanted to settled in some other country.

It’s important for candidates to feel comfortable in their country they’re working in. So two of our recruiters went to Sofia to evaluate the city life there together with the client’s employees.

Based on the statistics and gathered facts, we wrote a presentation letter, where we worked out the main objections our candidates had. We:

  • Highlighted the advantages of Bulgaria as a country that has a lot of major companies and interesting people;

  • Mentioned the cultural closeness between Bulgaria and Russia;

  • Showed the possible prospects for the improvement of personal wellbeing;

  • Explained how getting a Blue Card affects future employment in other international companies.

A whole block was dedicated to the fact that working in our client’s company would open a lot of professional opportunities. The project involved working on multithreading platforms for European banking, an English-speaking team, an international company as the customer. All these things were a huge advantage to professional growth and a nice compliment to the CV.

This is how we managed to overcome the mistrust and doubts of the developers — within a year all 17 people had moved to Sofia, although at first, 14 of them refused to relocate.

A TEAM OF SPECIALISTS READY FOR THE BULGARIAN OFFICE

We persuaded 17 developers to move to Bulgaria to work in our client’s office in Sofia. To do so, we conducted research about life in Bulgaria and shot a presentation video about the company itself. We worked out all the objections our candidates had and showed them the pros of living in Sofia.
